2003 svt mustang convertible

Local for dealer has a 2003 mstang convrtible. They have had it over a year. It is in very good condition. It has 61,000 miles, tires are showing a lot of wear, need replacing. They offered me a "special price"....26,300. I don't much about this svt mustang, but that seems kind of pricey for a car that is almost 6 years old. I could me wrong...enlighten me.

Re: 2003 svt mustang convertible

I'd pass for that price and 61K miles. Even if it is an SVT and convertable model.

Without knowing what equipment is on this Stang, using the defaults through KBB, this same car is listed at $24,900 retail and that's in excellent condition. Now NADA has the retail for this Stang listed as $22,650 in excellent condition.

These prices are just a ball park figure, but with gas prices as they are today, I think you may be able to get a lower price due to the gas guzzling V8 nature of the car. Also with bald tires the price should be lower not higher.

If I were you, I'd print out the info from both NADA & KBB and take to the dealer for negotiation. Personally, I'd offer them $23K and only if it included new Z rated rubber on all four corners. Start your bidding low and work up.

Is this the 10th Anniversary Edition by chance? If so, NADA has the price listed as $23,400.

EDIT: Oh and if it's been on their lot for a year now, they've been losing money on it. So just another negotiating point for you.

As you told it has 61000 miles and tires are also in a bad condition.I dont think its worth getting it, i think you must show it to some expert and ask for the advice.

Re: 2003 svt mustang convertible

I recently acquired a bone stock 1992 Mustang 5.0 Special Edition in great shape. 50,000 miles, original top, paint, etc even the stock converters, mufflers, and air silencer in the air intake.
This is a rare care and in rare stock condition. But I have always wanted a supercharged car. Not for racing but to have, hear, and sometimes get my foot into.
It has a 5 speed and 2:73 rear. Again, not for racing but to hear it whine and have a supercharged car.
What would be the best brand for my needs and is there one that's reliable and reasonably priced ?
Would I need to do anything else to the car ? If it means larger injectors, fuel pump, etc, I think I'll pass.
