Re: Ford Fiesta

It's a small city type of car...It's been around in Europe since 1976, only few years in USA also....Should be competition for the Mazda and Honda in USA...Also, it's going to be available in the USA and in the Europe ( like old Focus )...

Re: Ford Fiesta

we shall see...it has small displacement engines.... 1.25 L, 1.6 L, 1.8L I don't know what type will be used in USA...consumption is from 6-10 litres per 100 kilometres...now calculate...

Re: Ford Fiesta

Interesting, cause ZX3 and ZX5 ( in euro version ) is also called Focus Hatchback....

Litres make you confused? ok....

Let's see..

1.25 L = 76.27 cubic inches ( around 75 bhp )
1.4 L = 85.43 cubic inches ( around 90 bhp )
1.6 L = 97.63 cubic inches ( around 105-115 hp if it has vvt-i tehnology )
1.8 L = 109.84 cubic inches ( around 120 - 130 bhp )
2.0 L = 122.04 cubic inches ( around 140 - 150 bhp )

Now, remember, this is the European Ford Fiesta, I presume, that this will be engine offer ( at least it has been by now, for Fiesta and Focus )...
The above engines are rather good except 1.4 which is a little lazy on the throttle...They are all inline 4 cyl. which is a good thing, since the consumption is not great...dependable on weight of the car....It goes around
2.64 gallons on 62.13 miles ( 10 litres per 100 kilometres...) Those are facts for 1.4 and 1.6 engines... ( calculation based on my 2001 Ford Focus 1.4 L engine )

Re: Ford Fiesta

The Fiesta is a great little run around car, its been a mainstream Moms car in the UK for donkeys years - I don't know how well it will go in the US market

Re: Ford Fiesta

We've had those here for a long time too. The only difference is that they are called a ford focus instead of what you are calling it. Tiny little car.. Semi would flatten you like a pancake! lol Good on gas though eh?

Re: Ford Fiesta

i think it could sell well in the U.S. I think we're all going to be suprised at how many more little cars are on the road after gas gets above $4.00 a gallon. I can barely afford gas for my Focus!

Re: Ford Fiesta

yeah.... thats why it has been launched in US because looking at the price hike people could be more interested in getting a small but elegant car.

Re: Ford Fiesta

Actually from what I've read, this is smaller than the Focus and would compete with the likes of the Yaris and Aveo. It's known in other parts of the world as the Verve.

Here's a link with some sedan pics.

Re: Ford Fiesta

I have heard that it is quite economical as to the fuel consumption. It though gets tough competition from Honda which again is quite fuel efficient.Which gives a better average?
