RX-7 and LS1

starting a new project. mazda rx-7 with a ls1. any thoughts or comments or know anyone who has done it.

Its done all the time. In fact I think there is a forum dedicated to that swap. LS1 RX7 Forum in Google should turn something up. Got any pics of the car or motor? There are a couple of them running around in my area and they are fast.

yeah i no thats why im building one. i get the motor in a couple of months. have to pull it from my buddies car first. i will get some of the car up here.

i just got the car. its a 1995 rx7. got it with no motor and trans for 3000 dollars. just bought a t56 trans and the ls1 is going to be here in about 2 weeks. im running c5 vette brakes in all four corners. and i am getting the rear half shafts cryo dipped.

Sounds cool. Let us know if you came across any problems. I have a friend who did an LS1 swap in his 88' Camaro. That thing is a BEAST now. Beautiful car too.

i think RX-7s aren't the most reliable cars around. Blown apex seals and overheating are frequent problems, but more often it is poorly executed tuning or over boosting that turns the 13B into an IED.
