Retro Look Sells

Ford has done well with the retro look Mustang,Chevrolet went retro with the SSR and Chrysler with the PT Cruiser, just think if Ford would bring out a competitor to them based on the 39-40 Ford styling  maybe with 4.6 power as an option, maybe even a woody too.I bet they would be flying off the sales floor.Anyone agree? (USA built,of course!)

Re: Retro Look Sells

The cost of the T-bird was waaaay too high. It was a cool looking car, but most decided that the limited supply and high price just weren't worth it. And the woody thing has kinda happened in the recent past, with the PT Cruiser. But that may have just been an aftermarket mod, I don't recall. Still would be a great idea...which means the chances of it happening are slim to none these days.

Re: Retro Look Sells

A retro Bronco is in the works at Ford.
Take a look at the "2008 Bronco" thread.

Re: Retro Look Sells

I'm in in favour of retro - though at my age, hell its not retro its just the way it was!

The T-Bird was a classic, shame it went

Re: Retro Look Sells

Retro is a big seller in everything not just motors, however the PT Cruiser was a bit of OMG back to the draving board Chevrolet in my opinion

Re: Retro Look Sells

I wasn't a fan of the retro look when it first came out, but I have to say that I've been converted! I LOVE the new Mustang, and they're everywhere now where I live!
