3.0L DOHC in a 1993 Probe GT

i was wondering if the 3.0L DOHC motor from the sable/taurus would fit in a 1993 probe gt.

Re: 3.0L DOHC in a 1993 Probe GT

The largest engine that has been put into a ford probe 2nd gen. was a ford taurus SHO motor, early 90's model which i believe was a 3.0 liter v-6 supercharged. i've seen pictures of that car, and i have to say i never saw a hood on it, so the hood may not even fit with the motor in it. If you need that bigger motor, i'd stick with the stock 2.5 liter v6. The 2.0 4 cyl isnt bad either though to tell you the truth. it's not too expensive to customize the heck out of that 4 cyl engine, and the tranny is wound a little higher than the v6.

Anything can be done for a price. IMHO the Probe isn't a great platform to mod. Lots more support for the Mustang.
