Manual Transmission Conversion I have a 92 GT with a automatic transmission. I'm noticing a lot of slippage in the last 500 miles or so. Since I'm going to have to fix the tranny soon do you think it would be worth it to do a conversion to a manual trans? I have seen a few examples of people doing this, some good and some bad. Price wise I could probably pick up most parts at a local salvage yard. So I would guesstimate it would be about 2-3k. What are your thoughts?

I would be doing the work myself. The 2-3k is more than it would cost for parts. I was just adding a little pillow. I've had the car for about 8 years and bought it off my parents. It's in really good condition body wise. It has had new paint and engine rebuild in the last 2 years. I would want to use the car for autocrossing, track days, and just driving.

I'm 90% sure that I will be doing it towards the end of May. I went to the HWY 71 Salvage Yard outside Austin today and they have pretty much everything I will need. I would probably be looking at about 900-1200 with the parts from the yard. I will continue planning it. When I do it I will document everything in pictures and post up a link.
