I love the mavericks, little light car just beggin for some power. I think the maverick would look sweet pro street. But then again I think anything would look good pro street, even my wife's focus! I think I may have a problem..LOL

Nah, you don't have a problem T-Bolt. Anything looks good pro-street. I even saw as GEO Storm in pro street trim. Looked pretty mean. I have a picture of it somewhere, I'll have to find it and post it up.

As far as the Maverick, there's one here where I live that is painted Grabber Green, black stripes, magnum 500's, grabber hood, wide tires, lowered a little. Looks sweet. :smokin:

Drop a small block with all the goodies-beefie rear end to handle the power. Tubbed for big meats. Then watch out.

big block/small block chevy term

the 351 c is a "big block" the 351 w is a "small block" the 351 will big more toqure andf less hp at a5500 rpm. the 351 c will big more hp and less toqure at 5500 rpm. this is what ford uses for there power marks. the 351 w is easier to get parts for since it is in the same family as the 5.0/302

Yes the cleveland mounts are the same as the 302/351 windsor. If it is a c4 on your 250 6cyl you could use this tranny on either one of these motors as well. How much of a budget are you on? If you are looking for the most bang for the buck, why not drop in a 302 from a 87 and up mustang. They even came with forged pistons, except I believe it was 93 they used hypertectic. Even the old 8" rear end will take quite a pounding.

Your best bang for the buck I would say is buy a complete 302 roller motor, or if you find a good deal on a 351 windsor do it. Stay away from the 351/400 modifieds, FE motors (352, 390, 427, 428, etc) or 385 series 429/ 460, and yes even the earlier clevelands. These are all good motors but either are better in different applications, would cost more to build, or would require more fabrication than a 302/351 windsor would.
Now that is just my opinion.

Your wrong, they are all small blocks, the cleveland and modified are both part of fords small block family which is why the heads from a 351c bolt onto a 302 i.e. the boss 302, and the 351c uses a small block intake they are small blocks but use big block parts, bell housings and distributors its just a tall deck small block with big block parts but if u research it thru ford youll find out they are small blocks. and this includes the 400m also, the 351m and 400m use big block intakes just a peice of advice.. eithier way they suck go with a 393 stroker out of a 351w, youll just need to smash in or cut away part of the shock towers.
