anyone know the specs on the new ford focus? hp? rear wheel hp? torque? Stock 1/4 mile time, etc...? Im just wondering if it is worth trading in the 2001 for the new svt. :smokin:

I wrote an article for a magazine, you can view it online here: http://www.aerovec.com/page.php?page=3

What a fun car. I'd definatly take one over the new 02' Si and GTI. I'm curious to see what kind of power potential owners will pull from it.

I am actually the Creative Arts Director for the magazine. But I am also a car afficiando so to speak, so I do a lot of Auto related research and journalism. I also just finished an article on Scion (check it out if you've never heard of it, interesting stuff).

Thanks for the compliment too :p

pretty sweet, maybe by chance you could "accidentally" mention the site in an article. Accidentally of course...:flamingdevil:

Hey guy's,
I really like the looks of the focus cars, but I've heard they have problems with water leaking into the lens of the headlights, and taillights. I've also heard reports that they leak inside the trunk also. Are you guys aware of this problem? I figured that they (Ford) would resolve this problem with the new models. I seriously considered buying one of these cars, until I started asking around. I actually saw one focus with water inside the back brake lens. Do you guys know if they have fixed this problem? Thanks. Darby

i like the focus that i saw at Carlisle. it was built by autokrafters. it had a 351W, with a built tranny and a 8.8 or 9 inch rear. THAT WOULD DEFINITELY FLY! but as for the svt focus... it is a damn quick car! my wifes cousin has a soupped up ricer civic, and he raced it and got whooped upon. especially when it came to the corners!

my cousin just bought a focus tonight. he wanted the svt but didnt get it due to needing the 4 door. so he got the VTS? with the MACH AUDIO system. that stereo is sweet for being factory! (even though kenwwod manufactures fords stereos)

if you take apart fords head units the circuitry is made by kenwood. at least they were a few years ago. they may have changed since then though

I think they are using Pioneer now, not sure about the past.
