ok well i just got a 89 ford crown vic with i think a 5.0 ho cuz i ran the 1/4 mile in 17.2 sec and im wanting to put eather 4.10 or i was thinking 4.88 in my 8.8 that is in the rear. would the 4.88 be to much gear for the vic being its like 4,00lbs? oh and im looking for some headers for it also perferably long tubed headers has true duels out the back 2in and not mufflers but i dont no much about header manufactures so some help would be nice my goal is to run mid 14s with the vic when im done. and is a shift kit hard to install i a aod?

4.10s probably as far as you should go. Speedo correction difficult with those....think impossible if you go past those. If your cars got it....check the TV bushing....change it out before it fails you.....it'll turn your tranny to junk if it goes.
