hi i recently just purchased a car with my XXX credit witch is horible but i got a ford escort zx2 auto transmission and it ran fine for the firstcouple of days now seems like the tranny slips i had 3 cars in my time a 1996 sohc 2.0 plymouth neon then i had a 1998 dohc plymouth neon well i think it was a 98 it was in between years or 1998 and 99 but anyway they were both manual transmissions and ran perfect the the 96 neon had 208,XXX miles sold it for 1,700 traded the 98-99 to the dealership for this one got 1,100 for it as a trade in bought the zx2 for 4,600 as a 3 year loan at 223.00 a month and 1 week later the tranny slips i knew it was a bad idea to get i hear of people replacing the tranny 4 or 5 times before they say fuckit but when i had the neons i never had this problem so i came to the conclusion of just saying fuckit and not do what everryone else does is go buy another auto from the junkyard and have that one last 3 months then take a shit then do it again no i cant do that so i think i want to just go to the junkyard and have them find a 2000 ford escort w/ a manual tranny and just swap my auto tranny with the manual tranny now my question is will it fit or not can i just swap it out and get a stage 2 clutch i read about people haveing problems with the for taruses cause they have an abs break system this has not abs tell me what u guys think i should do thankyou in advance for ur reply

Hey there, It sounds kinda like you got messed over on that car. If i was you i would bring it back to the dealer you bought it from and complain. Even if you bought it as-is with now warranty, which mostly likely, there is still what they call a lemon law in most states that protects you from getting ripped off, and michigan is one of those states. so i would look into that before buying a new tranny and going through all the trouble of swaping to a manual trans
