B&M shifter and AOD

I have an AOD from a floor shift car in my 54 Ford,the directions for the shifter shows cutting the stock shifter lever and adding on a B&M lever,The directions for the B&M AOD bracket kit say to use the stock shift lever if from a floor shift car.Any one been there done that? called their Tech line and got"I'm not really sure" DUH!

I'm assuming we're talking about a 54 Ford car, right? Have you tried installing them yet to see if they're compatible?

It's in a car,engine and trans came from a 1984 Lincoln MKVII.

Try the 84 shifter and see if it can work. If not try it the other way. Has the motor been installed already? Just curious. You may need to put in a different crossmember for the rear of the trans.

:wavey: I made it work,bought a Lokar TV cable,the B&M shifter was used but had the AOD bracket with it, the AOD came from a MKVII with floor shift,so a little work with the dremel and it works OK.:thumbsup:
