It has been a long time coming but I finally ordered the rest of the stuff to finish the front suspension on the 61 falcon. My original plan was to run a 302 c4 auto with 3.55 gears, but I am concerned with how it run on the highway. I have a rebuilt aod out of a 84 lincoln that had a 302 but am concerned with reliability of this tranny. This car will be a cruiser and will see alot of highway driving so the overdrive would be sweet. The 302 I am using now is a pretty much stock 89 5.0 HO with the exception of a b303 cam and a elderbrock dual plane intake. Anybody have any opinions on the AOD and or other options?

A 302 massaged mildly with the aod should make it a good cruiser. The aod of today has a lot of the bugs worked out. So it should be smooth.
