Hi, my girlfriend has a 1992 crown victoria, she overheated the car once and since then it has been leaking coolant from between the engine and transmission.
I assumed one of the freeze plugs was leaking since I found no other trace of leakage around the heads and intake.
I removed the transmission and flywheel, the back of the engine has 2 freeze plugs side by side and one in the top center area which is missing, there is a huge stain of rust in that area so I assume this is where a freeze plug belongs, only there was no signs of the freeze plug and no way for it too escape the bellhousing.

I purchased a 1.5 inch freeze plug and it seems to be a hair too small, does anyone know if this bare hole even belongs to a freeze plug?
