The 351m isn't even close. Different motor mounts and the bellhousing would be different to (the 351/400m share bellhousings with the 385 series blocks). Even if the swap was easier I still wouldn't recommend it. Best bet find another 302 or 351 windsor.

That is SOOOO not true, yoshtin. Bigger is... well.. exactly that. Only bigger. There are 289's out there that will flat out SMOKE my 390. Thats over 100ci bigger. 390's though bigger, are better at low end torque. It all depends on what the engine was built to do, which in my case was tow. Not to mention engines like the 302 are alot easier to work with due to a large quantity of aftermarket parts. More blocks around means better chances of getting what you want and building it for a more reasonable price. For the horsepower I aquired from my 390, I spent a total of $2200. And I already HAD the block. I probably could have built a 302 with an additional 100hp for $1000 less. SO.... Bigger isnt better. :)

i was having the same prob with my 1974 ford maverick wiotch has the same chassy as you mock one i was thinking about dropping a 351 m in but i researched it and found out that it wont fit so if i were you i were you if you wanted a 351 i would go with a windsor due to the lower cost of after marcket parts to make it go faster

thats all i have to say
