Welding an exhaust manifold

Is it possible to have a cast iron exhaust manifold welded to fix a crack in it?..... please say yes....

Yes, You can braze it with bronze or have it arc welded with a nickel rod

You can weld anything together (pretty much!), but the question is how long will it last? Just don't weld it to the head... :)

OK.. after some research here is what I came up with... quite informative actually.

scroll to the bottom of the page, there are a couple of realy good ideas of how to do this. I am gonna give it a try... I will let you know how it goes.

Im gettin them Im gettin them.. believe it or not, not one digital picture exists of my car (which I find hard to believe) and currently the engine and tranny are out so its not in its best shape... but guaranteed there will be some coming.

I didn't read the link you posted but I've done some cast welding with a wirefeed using mild steel wire with pretty good results. One was a cracked water jacket from a previous owner not using enough antifreeze. I've also done a couple manifolds including my current Turbo Ranger project.
I do like the idea of welding the manifold to the head, though.
