? about 98 2.5 L4...

My step dad is looking at a 98 Ranger with a 2.5 L4.
What are good points and bad about this motor. We both
are familar with 2.3 but, not this one. Any comments
would be appreciated...thanks.

I have put 70,000 on my 98 with that engine with NO repairs ever made! knock on wood. The only downfall is lack of power but that is to be expected!

Thanks jasfrmn....he's looking for a daily commute vehicle. Gas milege more important than
power. He has a 66 Mustang w/306 crate motor almost 400 hp. He is tired of putting mileage
on it every day. Thanks for the comment, I think he picks it up tues.

I beleive that they are the same engine

So if you know the 2.3, you also know the 2.5 (with minor differences in sensors, etc)
