Goin 5.0: Im sure you can put one in aftermarket. I meant stock though. Wouldnt that be sweet to take a 2003 ranger off the lot stock with a 289 Hi-Pro?

Beradtke: Now were talkin about Mercury? lol

Oh, by the way Red: $800 bucks for a 302 sounds like a spanking to me. It depends on whether or not it is a complete turn-key motor and what mods have been done to it. I can pick up a good 302 block, guts and heads here in washington for under $500. But, like I said, it depends on how complete, what mods, and who did them. I never trust someone elses work when it comes to engine modification.

lol. Its running very good, actually. I have a minor leak in the passenger side head gasket. I'll probably fix that this weekend. Im not real sure yet what caused it, but I do know that I forgot to retorque the heads at 100 miles and finally realized it at 270 miles. I just finished tuning the carb today and it runs sweet. Its going to sound awesome with the Edelbrock headers and Dynomax exhaust.

Thanx for asking though. Hopefully I will get off my butt and post some more pics!
