Re: Sales down

For 2008, all full and mid sized truck sales have declined, except for the Ford Ranger and Toyota Tundra. The Tundra sales are basically flat since March, but up compared to Jan/Feb '07 when they were still selling the 1st Gen Tundra. The Nissan Titan sales are down something like 42% compared to '07, while the Ford Focus sales are up 88% compared to '07.

The increase in fuel prices have sent people out looking for smaller more economical vehicles. Prices are almost $4 per gallon for gasoline (85 octane) and over $4 a gallon for diesel. The fuel increase has also caused companies to up their prices for shipping, which has impacted food and most every basic retail product.

There was a special on the news last night stating how some local dealers are getting a couple grand more than normal for these compact vehicles due to the increased demand. Auctions are selling cars that are normally $5K for $7K now, while lots are filling up with mid & large Trucks/SUV's.

So yes it is true.
