The Future of the Ford Van?

I've been doing some checking into the new Ford Airstream, which was debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. I find it really interesting. I'm not sure it'll ever make it to the road, though.

Apparently Ford worked closely with the makers of the Airstream travel home to give the new vehicle its futuristic look. It's not just futuristic in look, but in function, as well.

From everything I've seen and heard, the Airstream runs on electric power at all times. It's powered by a plug-in hydrogen hybrid fuel cell and gets up to 41 mpg equivalent. The fuel cell recharges the lithium-ion battery pack, allowing the fuel cells to act more like a portable generator than a normal battery. This is in contrast to Ford's previous fuel cell attempts.

The vehicle travels 25 miles before the fuel cells kick in, and then can travel up to another 280 miles.

While there may be some aspects of the concept vehicle that make their way into future Fords, I don't think the Airstream will actually make it as a whole.
