| Too much is better than too little The fuel pressure regulator will only allow as much fuel in as the injectors need (as long as it is calibrated/adjusted accordingly).
If the pump is putting out more than the regulator will let by, it just gets pumped back into the tank.
I put a fuel pump from a '95 Super Coupe (I believe it's a 190lph pump) into my '87 Ranger fuel tank to fuel my '87 5.0L engine.
They are incredibly interchangeable!
